Is this really so good?

All the hype and rave reviews on the nikon 18-200mm VR lens... Is it really tat good?? btw it's super ex also...

From http://www.bythom.com/

Super optics. Really, no significant flaws worth mentioning. Considering the price and the long focal range, superb performance.

The 28-300mm for the digital world. Yes, the superzoom can be super. Considering the close focus ability, this lens really is going to suffice for 80%+ of the shots most folk take, at least if you don't need an f/2.8 or faster aperture.

Price/Performance winner. This is a far better lens than you'll ever expect, even for US$750. Far better. Good enough that it has replaced both my 18-70mm and 24-120mm as the walk around lens of choice for when I want to go light and with one lens.

http://www.kenrockwell.com

It's fun, sharp and practical. It's enabled me to create more great photos than I ever thought possible. What more can I say?

Nikon pulled out all their tricks in the 18-200mm VR. It really works. Nikkor lenses have been around since 1932 and Nikon's been around 15 years longer than that. They've learned a thing or two. Nikkor lenses are the reason we shoot Nikon cameras. Lenses are far, far more complex than simple focal length range and aperture specifications.

I love wide angles and use my 12-24 mm quite often. I wish I had something even wider. You people know who you are. My 12-24mm and 18-200mm VR are all I use today.

Like most good things it's expensive and hard to get. You probably can pay for it by selling the lenses it replaces.

Good points
Highly versatile 11.1x zoom range
Effective anti-shake VR feature
Fast and quiet SWM focusing motor
Polariser-friendly internal focusing

This is funny haa

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: "Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs."

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads: "Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids."

"That's nice", she thinks, "but I want more."

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads: "Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking."

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads: "Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework."

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads: "Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak."

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the
sign reads: "Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store."

PLEASE NOTE:

To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited

Chapter 1: Proactive and Reactive

Finally managed to finished chapter 1 of "7 Habits of highly effective people"...
Found this quite interesting comparison between "Proactive" and "Reactive" people

Definition 1st

Proactive - Responsible for our own lifes, Behaviour is function of our decisions, not conditions. We can subordinate feelings to values and have the initiative and responsibility to make things happen. These ppl recognised that they have responsiblility (Response ability, the ability to choose their response). They do not blame circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behaviour. Their behaviour is a product of their own conscious choice, based on values, rather than a product of their conditions, based on feelings.

Reactive - The opposite of Proactive, they are affected by their physical environment. eg. if the weather is good, they feel good. if it isn't it affects their attitude and their performance. Proactive ppl can carry their 'weather' with them, whether it rains or shines makes no difference to them. Reactive ppl are affected by their social environment as well by the "social weather". If ppl treat them well, they feel well, if they don't they became defensive and protective. Reactive ppl build their emotional lives around the behaviour of others, empowering the weakness of others to control the. Reactive ppl are driven by feelings, by circumstances, by conditions, by the environment. Proactive ppl are driven by values.

Reactive languagesProactive language
There's nothing i can do Let's look at our alternatives
That's just the way i am I can choose a different approach
He makes me so mad I control my own feelings
They won't allow that I can create an effective presentation
I have to do that I will choose an appropriate response
I can't I choose
I must I prefer
If only I will

Which type of person Mr Covey (author) thinks is the more effective person?
so are u a proactive or reactive person?

One more done

One more mini project completed

Arghh...

Arghhh... sprain my back/shoulder (shoulder blade area, dunno wat tat part is called) yesterday... now gotta walk like a robot, no big movements... grrr... sleep also cannot flip too much...

Keep raining these few days... the wet weather forced my shoes to open it's mouth (to complain abt te water perhaps, haha) ...think gotta go get another 1...

Feeling some emptiness recently (again)... doing activities that i used to do make me feel more "occupied". Badminton, running, model building, going out wif frens and even photography...

Guess will still need some time to get used to the new lifestyle. but no worries..
My motto : "I CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING, IF I WANTED TO"
